The new IML-System – for Self Service, Return and Security of Library Media

InfoMedis offers a new system for self service and security of items in libraries. It is available under the name IML (InfoMedis Library-System). The system can be used either in components or as an entire solution. InfoMedis mainly provides the software; the hardware is supplied on request.

As of today InfoMedis is also selling RFID labels in large quantities. This is possible due to IM’s long term relationships with world wide RFID label and chip suppliers.

We are convinced that RFID-Systems for libraries must be scalable and therefore be tailored for large and small libraries. We also know that some libraries need consultancy for the installation. Therefore we work together with the knb (competence network in Germany, see KNB, http://www.bibliotheksportal.de/hauptmenue/themen/rfid/), with competent resellers and take an active role in standardisation on national (DIN) and international (ISO) level.

The background to drive standardisation is that the system components for libraries get more and more simple to work with and are exchangeable within an already installed system.
